HAUPPAUGE N.Y. (LISN) Junior Jack Dolson netted his second hat-trick of the season in a five point performance to power the East Islip Chiefs (4-4) to a 7-2 victory over the Connetquot-Sayville T-Birds (2-6).

Freshman Jack Fontaine scored twice and added an assist. Junior Evan LaFata scored the game winning goal. 

Junior Dario Baerga picked up his second win through four starts. 

Senior Richie Westhoff Jr. made his fourth start of the season before being relieved by Junior Reilly Hanley late in the 3rd period. 

Dolson sniped low glove side for his first of the night put the Chiefs up 1-0 with 9:30 left in the 1st period. 

Fontaine scored a power play goal to double the Chiefs lead with 7:40 remaining in the 2nd period. Dolson fed it to the front of the net for Junior Logan Barton, who found Fontaine in the slot for a backhand shot to beat Westhoff stick side high. 

10 seconds later LaFata went top shelf for his seventh of the season to make it 3-0 East Islip. 

Sophomore Joe Villani scored his second of the season with 4:40 to go in the second stanza. Villani went forehand-backhand to tuck it home. 

18 seconds later Dolson buried a rebound on the doorstep to put the Chiefs back up by three. 

Senior Brady Hall netted his first of the season to make it 4-2 with 2:40 left in the second frame.     

Fontaine scored his fifth of the season with 12:13 remaining in the 3rd period. The freshman forward won a puck battle to Dolson, who cut right-to-left as he skated up ice, and found a streaking Fontaine to score on the back door. 

Dolson forced a turnover in the slot before going glove side low to complete the hat-trick with 7:29 to go in the final frame. 

Senior Kieran Freelin roofed it on a backhand shot for his first of the season to make it 7-2 with 5:34 left in regulation.

Upcoming Schedule

The East Islip Chiefs (4-4) square off against the Middle Country Cougars (0-8) on Monday November 11 at 8:10 p.m. The Chiefs are looking to extend their win streak to three games.

The Connetquot-Sayville T-Birds (2-6) are back in action on Wednesday November 13 at 7:50 p.m. against Sachem (5-3). The T-Birds have lost four of their last five heading into the game against a Sachem team that is starting to gain some steam.
