Dufresne Blanks Patriots

HAUPPAUGE N.Y. (LISN)Senior Brian Prange scored once in a four point performance to lift the Kings Park-Commack Knights (7-1) to a 7-0 victory over the Ward Melville Patriots (2-6).

It was the Knights second consecutive shutout victory. KPC has not allowed a goal in over 115 minutes. 

Junior Ryan Flynn finished with four helpers for Kings Park-Commack. 

Senior Jacob Dufresne recorded his first career SCHSHL shutout in his third win through four starts for KPC. 

Senior Luke Tannenbaum  started his sixth game of the season for Ward Melville. 

Senior Jack Salva scored the eventual game winner for KPC with 4:18 remaining in the 1st period. Salva sniped short side high after his wrap around attempt was stopped by Tannenbaum

Senior Jesse Lemza, the KPC captain, scored 52 seconds into the 2nd period to make it 2-0. Lemza won a battle in the slot and rifled a shot across his body as he spun away from a defender. 

Lemza scored his eighth of the season with 5:21 remaining in the second stanza. 

Prange scored his fourth of the season with 2:06 left in the 2nd period. 

Senior Ryan Furst made it 5-0 with 1:14 left in the second frame.

Furst scored his fifth of the season with 10:31 in the final frame. 

Senior John Coyle scored his fifth of the season with 5:11 left in the 3rd period.
