Manhasset Great Neck Wins 4-3 In OT
Emmanuel Giouroukakis scored the game winning goal as Manhasset Great Neck (10-3-0-1) won 4-3 in overtime against the Farmingdale Dalers (8-5-0-2). Manhasset Great Neck has now won three straight games in overtime. Will Sylvia made 34 stops in his seventh win through as many starts for Manhasset. Luke Watrous made 44 saves in his ninth start for Farmingdale.
Jake Sylvia opened the scoring on a shot from the slot with 12:24 remaining in the second stanza. Matt Hohmann scored a breakaway goal to tie the game at 1-1 with 10:39 left in the frame. 23 seconds later Evan Cho sniped stick side high from the top of the right wing face off circle to put Manhasset back up by one. Matt Hohmann deflected a shot from the point past Sylvia to score his second of the night with 3:50 left in the 2nd period. Mike Mondiello scored on a wrist shot from between the top of the face off circle and the left wing hashmarks to give Manhasset a 3-2 lead with 34 seconds left in the frame.
Matt Hohmann scored on a redirect to complete the hat trick and tie the game with 57 seconds left in regulation. With ten seconds remaining in overtime Emmanuel Giouroukakis went five hole to win the game for Manhasset. Giouroukakis won a battle for possession in the slot, curled towards the net to create a clean look and made no mistake on the quick shot.
