Syosset Secures Season Opener

Jack Bahrenburg scored the eventual game winner with 11:10 gone by in the final frame. Sam Flax got the start for Syosset. He made eight saves on nine shots for the Braves. Syosset elected to have their goaltenders split the season opener. Nick Suma made ten saves on eleven shots on the night after entering the game for the Braves. Luke Guttman got the nod in net for the Half Hollow Hills. He made 23 saves on 26 shots for the Hornets.

The first fifteen minutes of the game went by without a goal. The Hornets would open the scoring late in the second stanza off of a goal by Jett Lucas. Bahrenburg tied the game at one apiece in the final minutes of the second period.

Bahrenburg completed the natural Hat Trick with a short handed goal in the third frame of play. With less than two minutes remaining, Lucas scored a power play goal to make it a one score game. Joseph Fanelli scored an empty net goal to seal the deal for Syosset.
