Sachem Shows Out
Junior Caiden Marcus scored twice as Sachem (6-3) won 6-1 over the Connetquot-Sayville T-Birds (2-7).
Sophomore Justin Horrman scored his first career varsity goal. Sophomore C.J. Pena scored a highlight reel goal for Sachem.
Junior Michael DiGirolamo won his second game through five starts this season.
Senior Richie Westhoff Jr. allowed six goals against in his fifth start of the season.
Senior Alex Clark spelled Westhoff at the start of the 3rd period. Sophomore Joey Villani was the T-Birds lone goal scorer.
Horrman opened the scoring with 13:22 left in the 1st period to put Sachem up 1-0. Senior Anthony Pergolizzi won the draw, Sophomore C.J. Pena fired a shot on goal, and Horrman crashed the net to bury the rebound.
Marcus made it a two score game with 12:01 remaining in the first frame. Junior Chase Saunders found Marcus in front for a one-timer that beat Westhoff.
Junior Cameron Kalberer scored his twelfth of the season with 5:55 to go in the opening stanza. Kalberer danced through multiple defenders at center ice, drifted to his right as he entered T-Birds territory, and went stick side high.
Villani scored his third of the year with 3:02 left in the 1st period to make it 3-0. Villani came in on a breakaway and went forehand-backhand to beat DiGirolamo five-hole before he was sent crashing into the goal post.
Marcus netted his second of the night with 9:47 remaining in the 2nd period. Junior James Drago made a beautiful behind the back feed from beneath the goal line for Marcus who rifled it far side.
Capece scored his third of the year with 2:47 to go in the second stanza. The senior chipped the puck into the neutral zone for Drago who gave it right back to a streaking Capece who went forehand-backhand to score.
Pena scored his sixth of the season with 1:27 remaining in the second frame to put Sachem up 6-1. The sophomore muscled past a T-Birds defender and went forehand-backhand to tuck it five-hole.

Upcoming Schedule
The Connetquot-Sayville T-Birds (2-7) face off against the Ward Melville Patriots (2-6) for the second time this season on Monday, November 18 at 8:10 p.m. The T-Birds trounced the Patriots 7-3 in their first meeting of the campaihn.
Sachem (6-3) squares off against the Middle Country Cougars (0-9) in their second game of the year on Monday, November 25 at 9:40 p.m. Sachem cruised to a 9-1 victory over Middle Country in their season opener.
