Penn State Harrisburg delivered a commanding 7-3 victory over Columbia at Twin Ponds Arena on Saturday, evening their season record at 11-10 and handing the Lions their seventh loss in 15 games. The Nittany Lions dominated possession throughout the contest, outshooting Columbia 51-25 and forcing Lions goaltender Liam Hadcock into a busy night between the pipes.

Despite the lopsided final score, Columbia received strong offensive contributions from their top scorers. Ronan Robinson, who entered the game with 13 goals and 21 points in 13 games, found the net twice to pace the Lions’ attack. The sophomore forward was supported by the playmaking of Drew Skotarczak and Brandon Avezov, who each tallied two assists. Skotarczak, playing in just his sixth game of the season, continued his impressive assist rate with 13 helpers in limited action, while Avezov added to his team-leading 72 points through 13 games. Calidore Robinson also contributed a goal for Columbia.

Hadcock faced relentless pressure in the Columbia net, stopping 44 of 51 shots for an .863 save percentage in the loss. The junior goaltender was tested early and often as Penn State Harrisburg capitalized on numerous scoring opportunities throughout all three periods. The defeat marked a stark contrast to Columbia’s dominant 7-2 victory over the same Penn State Harrisburg squad back on November 7, highlighting the competitive balance within ECHC conference play.

The loss drops Columbia to 8-7 overall as they continue their ACHA campaign, while Penn State Harrisburg used the home-ice advantage to climb back to .500 on the season with their most complete performance in recent weeks.
