Third Times The Charm

Town of Oyster Bay, N.Y. (LISN) — Following two straight losses in the NYIHSHL Championship Series, the Bellmore/Merrick Bulldogs cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Long Beach Marines on Monday night, securing the 2024-2025 Nassau County Championship.

Nick Drogan was named the NYIHSHL Championship Series MVP. Drogan recorded a goal and two assists in the Bulldogs victory. Collin Roulston and Sean Keene each scored twice. Roulston potted a power play marker and Keene netted a penalty shot goal.

Joey Braglia made 18 saves for Bellmore/Merrick in the win. Patrick Reilly stopped 26 of 34 shots in the loss for Long Beach.

Roulston scored 7:27 into the 1st period to make it 1-0 Bulldogs. Brandon Richardson fired a shot from the point that Roulston redirected past Reilly. 

The Bulldogs scored two goals in the opening two minutes of the 2nd period. 

Drogan went five-hole on a breakaway to make it 2-0. Keene scored went backhand-forehand on a penalty shot to make it 3-0. 

Jourdan Louskoff found the back of the net at 8:49 of the 2nd period. Louskoff beat Reilly with a backhand shot to make it a four goal game.  

Lucas Lucchi netted his second of the playoffs at 8:49 of the 2nd period. Keene potted his second of the night at 13:33 of the second stanza. 

Richie Behr Jr. scored at 14:57 of the 2nd period to put the Marines on the board. 

Richard Behr Jr. put Long Beach on the board in the dying seconds of the 2nd period.

The Bulldogs answered back with a power play strike by Roulston at the start of the 3rd period.

James Rodriguez answered for Long Beach before Chase Goldman restored the six goal lead.
