Thanksgiving Roundtable: One Player Each SCHSHL Team Is Grateful For

On behalf of the entire crew here at the Long Island Sports Network, we would like to express our gratitude towards all our partnered organizations in the Suffolk County High School Hockey League. It would have been impossible to expand our coverage of the varsity division without the support of coaches, league officials, referees and high school athletes. We have prepared a special Thanksgiving Day feature on one player that each team can be thankful for this season. These ten players were selected using our LISN advanced analytics program. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Connetqout Sayville BBP T-Birds
Mathew Campagnola
The T-Birds aren’t the T-Birds without Mathew Campagnola. The SCHSHL star has been red hot in the month of November with two goals and five assists in three straight T-Birds wins. Campagnola scored the game winning goal against the Bulls and has three goals and nine assists on the campaign.
East Islip Chiefs
Jack Dolson
What can’t Jack Dolson do? Through nine games this season, Dolson has slotted in at multiple positions up and down the lineup for the Chiefs. In a 5-4 win against Sachem, Dolson slotted in as the teams first line center in the first frame, before moving back to the blue line for the remainder of the game. Dolson has 3 goals and 4 assists in nine games played.
Kings Park Commack Knights
Ryan Walsh
The Knights centerman has scored two Game Winning Goals for Kings Park Commack this season. In his first varsity campaign, Walsh has tallied 4 goals and 4 assists in just seven games
Longwood Lions
Anthony Frega
The former JV standout started the first ever Varsity game for the Longwood Lions. Frega was nothing short of sensational in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss that made him a SCHSHL fan favorite. Longwood may be without a win, but don’t count them out with Frega between the pipes.
Northport Huntington Tigers
Joseph Caruso
Caruso scored 2 Game Winning Goals in overtime for the Tigers this season. The former JV standpoint has registered a point in all but one of Northport Huntington’s wins this year. Caruso lit the lamp 4 times and garnered 3 assists in seven contests this season.
Sachem
Richard Bovich
The Sachem centerman has not been held off the scoresheet a 5-4 overtime win against the Bulls on September 27th. Bovich has scored 6 goals and garnered 6 assists in eight games played.

The Bulls rookie has recorded multiple points in four games this season. Bareham has 5 goals and 9 in assists in ten games and is tied for ninth overall in total points.
Gerard Nealon
The Friars power forward has scored in three consecutive contests with 5 goals in his last five games. Nealon has a team leading 12 points in nine games this year.
Ward Melville Patriots
Mathew Dann
The former Friar’s four game point streak may have come to an end, but Dann has tallied six points in seven games while wearing a Ward Melville Patriots sweater.
West Islip Lions
William Shields
Shields has scored 5 goals and garnered 3 assists in nine games during the 2023-2024 campaign. The second year varsity forward has scored 2 Game Winning Goals this year with goals in all three West Islip Lions Wins.
