Less than a minute later, the T-Birds jumped out to a 3-1 lead. Brent Brdey threaded the needle on a cross ice feed to Matt Campagnola, who slid the puck between the legs of the defender before firing a quick shot that beat Buccino. The West Islip Lions made it a one goal game at 1:39 in the 2nd period. The play began when Nicolas Perpall forced a defensive zone turnover in the left wing corner of the T-Birds zone, cut to the net and dropped it off to William Shields who scored off his own rebound. Logan Booth Alam scored to put the T-Birds back up by two with thirty-three seconds remaining in the 2nd period. The goal came after a great zone entry by the speedster, who cut from the left wing of the neutral zone to the top of the right wing dot, where he beat Buccino blocker side high.

The Connetqout Sayville BBP T-Birds will take on the St. Anthony’s Friars on Sunday, December 10th at 7:50 PM. The Friars won round one by a final score of 5-1. Despite their recent surge in the standings, questions remain for the T-Birds. Logan Booth Alam and Joseph Villani have been a revelation for this club over their past two games, but the T-Birds future will need to take center stage if they want to win in the present.
