T-Birds Take Down Patriots
Ricky Guterwill scored the game winning goal as the Connetquot Sayville BBP T-Birds defeated the Ward Melville Patriots 5-4. The T-Birds moved to 6-7. The Patriots dropped to 3-9-1. Alexander Clark picked up his fourth win in five starts for the T-Birds. Michael Sittler made his eighth start of the campaign for the Patriots.
With 8:48 remaining in the first frame, Jake Mangano opened the scoring for the Patriots on a wrist shot that slipped under the blocker side arm of Clark. Due to the absence of Daniel Breslin, Mangano moved back to the blue line for the first two periods of the game. Ethan Tam replaced Mangano on defense in the third frame. With 7:24 remaining, Ryan Fleischauer came in 1 on 1, broke the defenders ankles and went top shelf to even the score for the T-Birfd.
With 12:05 remaining in the second stanza, Lucas Scolaro fired a shot through a defender that beat the T-Birds netminder to give the Patriots a 2-1 lead. After a hooking call went against the Patriots, Logan Booth Alum buried a rebound on the power play to tie the game with 6:47 remaining in the frame. Less than a minute later, Andrew Jozwicki scored his first career SCHSHL goal for the T-Birds on a one timer from the slot assisted by Ricky Guterwill. Jozwicki previously scored at the Varsity level during his tenure with the PatMed Raiders during the 2021-2022 season. With 4:06 remaining in the second period, Eathan Brdey followed through on his own rebound to give the T-Birds a 4-2 lead.
At the start of the third period, Lucas Scolaro scored his second of the game on a rebound that came off a shot by Timothy Brown. Ricky Guterwill scored the fifth and final T-Birds goal of the game on a shot from the slot that beat Sittler short side with 7:14 remaining in the period. Twenty-eight seconds later, Mathew Dann buried a rebound from the backdoor off a shot by Patrick Scali to make it a one score game. The Patriots would pull Sittler in favor of an extra attacker, but the T-Birds fended off the comeback attempt.

A Bout Against The Knights
The Connetquot Sayville BBP T-Birds will square off with the Kings Park Commack Knights on Wednesday, December 20th at 9:20 PM. In their first meeting of the season the Knights defeated the T-Birds 4-0.
