St. Anthony’s Defeats Middle Country

HAUPPAUGE N.Y. (LISN) – Senior Daniel Cevallos scored the game winning goal in a two point performance as the St. Anthony’s Friars (7-0) won 10-1 over the Middle Country Cougars (0-8).

Junior Nick Busa scored once and added two helpers. Junior Anthony Cutalo scored twice in a game for the third time this season.

Senior Dom Feiler allowed one goal against in his third career varsity win for St. Anthony’s. Junior Andrew Martens started in goal for Middle Country.

Busa scored his fifth of the season with 13:24 remaining in the 1st period to put the Friars up 1-0. Busa streaked up ice on a two on one to receive a pass from Sirel for a back door tap in.

Junior Declan Munkwitz scored his third of the campaign to tie the game with 7:24 left in the opening frame. Munkwitz went end-to-end and beat the goaltender low glove side on an absolute beauty of a wrist shot.

Less than a minute later, Cevallos buried it on the doorstep for his first career varsity goal to put St. Anthony’s back up by one.

Junior Zack Sirel lit the lamp with 4:55 remaining in the first stanza.

Senior Brody O’Doherty scored his fourth of the season with 34 seconds left in the 1st period to make it 4-1 Friars.

Sirel became the fourth player in the league to hit the ten goal mark with 13:16 on the clock in the 2nd period.

Cutalo scored his first of the night with 11:24 remaining in the second stanza to make it a 6-1 hockey game.

Senior James Schendorf scored his fourth of the season with 6:04 to go in the 2nd period.

Cutalo went top shelf on a backhand shot for his seventh of the season with 3:37 left in the second frame.

Senior James Aspromonti scored his fifth of the season with 1:06 on the clock in the second stanza.

Junior Tommy Azzariti scored his seventh of the season to give St. Anthony’s 10-1 with 13:44 left in the 3rd period.
