Spartans Storm Back
Kash Bishop scored the game winning goal with 3:05 gone by in the final frame. Bishop netted a hat trick in a 6-5 comeback win. Vincent Psalidas made 27 stops in his first career NYIHSHL win. Patrick Algozzini started in goal for the Storm, but was relieved by Antonio Brugellis after a power play goal by the Spartans. The Roslyn/ E. Williston/ Carle Place Spartans moved to 1-1 on the campaign. The Valley Stream/ Seeanhaka/ Lynbrook Storm dropped to 1-3 on the season
VSSL jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first frame. Nicolas Naumov opened the scoring with 13:46 remaining in the frame. James Steinberg gave the Storm a two goal lead with 9:20 remaining in the period. With under a minute remaining, Tyler Darnell lit the lamp for VSSL.
The Spartans lit the lamp twice in the first four minutes of the second period. Justin Fox scored his first of the year with just seventeen seconds gone by in the frame. Noah Schor made it a one goal game with 11:38 remaining in the period. Aiden Seegal proceeded to score two goals in under two minutes for the Storm. The Spartans fired back on a power play by Kash Bishop with 5:11 left in the frame. After a goaltending change by VSSL, Bishop made it a one goal game. With under a minute remaining in the second stanza, Jacob Pinsk scored his first career NYIHSHL Varsity goal for the Spartans.
At the start of the 3rd period, the game was tied 5-5. Kash Bishop scored the eventual game winning goal with 11:55 gone by in the frame. With just over a minute remaining in the period, the Storm went empty net in an attempt to tie the game. Vincent Psalidas made a series of show stopping saves to secure the win for the Spartans.
