Oceanside Sails Away From Ice Falcons
LONG BEACH, NY- Oceanside improved to 2-4 on the season by handing the East Meadow/Levittown/Hicksville Ice Falcons (1-3) their first loss of the season on Sunday night. The Sailors won by a score of 8-5.
Oceanside struck first as Samuel Feldbaum made a tremendous deflection from Luke Mallor’s point shot with 2:44 left in the first period.
That was the only goal of the opening period, but the second had plenty.
Christopher Alaimo buried a great feed from Vince Romeo 55 seconds into the middle period.
Louis Hizme made it look easy on a breakaway giving Oceanside a 3-0 lead just under three minutes into the second.
Brendan Dalton got East Meadow on the board 4:24 into the second period.
Alaimo and Cooper Levy got two goals back at 6:47 and 7:27 of the second period, 40 seconds apart, to put Oceanside up 5-1.
Then Dalton got those two back with a goal 50 seconds later, then 54 seconds later for the Hat Trick and getting the game back within reach for the Ice Falcons, now down 5-3.
with 4:08 left in the second, Alaimo scored a hat trick of his own to make it 6-3 for Oceanside. This held to be the game-winner.
Oceanside ran away with it in the third, taking the game with a 8-5 win.
Jackson Lopez was the winning goaltender.

Oceanside is back in action tonight with a game against Plainview-Old Bethpage/Island Trees, from the Freeport Recreation Center at 8:45 pm.
The Ice Falcons have some time off as their next game is not until December 2, where they face Friends Academy also at the Freeport Recreation Center at 8:45 pm.
