Richie Behr Jr. scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner as the Long Beach Marines (4-5-0-1) defeated the Roslyn/E. Williston/Carle Place Spartans (1-9) by a final score of 6-0. Joseph Henry also added a pair of goals.

Matt Marino made nineteen saves for his first career NYIHSHL shutout as the Marines goaltender picked up his fourth win of the season. Zachary Goldman made twenty-six stops for the Spartans in his fourth start of the season.

The Spartans went 0-for-5 on the power play. Long Beach did not get a chance on the man advantage and scored all six of their goals at even-strength.

Behr Jr cut in from the left wing wall and beat Goldman five-hole to open the scoring just 1:41 into the game to put Long Beach up 1-0. Shortly after the Spartans went on the power play, where Marino made two key blocker saves to help kill off the two-minute minor. In the final minute of the first period, Joe Henry shot the puck directly off the faceoff, and it trickled through Goldman, making it 2-0.

In the second period, a nice pass across from Luke Pichichero to Michael Calvi ended up in the back of the net to move the score to 3-0, 7:05 into the second period. Behr Jr. got his second goal of the game pouncing on a fortuitous rebound and burying it with Goldman sliding across the crease. The Marines made it 4-0 with 2:52 remaining in the middle frame.

Henry got his second goal of the game with a shot from the top of the circle after receiving a pass from Quinn Judge. The shot squeaked through Goldman and gave Long Beach a 5-0 lead 7:59 into the third period. Pichichero put an exclamation point on the game, making it 6-0 with 3:47 left on the clock.
