1st Kings Park Commack

The Knights lit the lamp six times as they knocked off a previously undefeated Sachem squad. KPC has continued to play a strong two-hundred foot game, but their ability to light the lamp against top flight competition continues to impress.
2nd East Islip

EI lit the lamp eleven times against Northport Huntington despite the absence of their Captain Ryan Anatra. Their high octane offense has scored six goals or more through eight games this season.
3rd Sachem

Points: 14 | Wins: 7 | Losses: 1 | Goals For: 52 | Goals Against: 25
Sachem won seven consecutive games to start the season before losing by four goals to the Kings Park Commack Knights. Our model is suddenly more skeptical of Sachem after their margin of defeat last game. Furthermore they have committed 156 penalty minutes through just eight games, which is significantly higher than any other team in the Varsity division.
4th St. Anthony’s
Last Week’s Ranking: 5th
Points: 8 | Wins: 4 | Losses: 4 | Goals For: 42 | Goals Against: 29
St. Anthony’s has won three of their last four games after dropping back-to-back games to start the season. The Friars have lost three games by two goals, and one game by three goals. They also boast a +13 goal differential on the year. SCHSHL fans should keep an eye on St. Anthony’s moving forward.
5th Smithtown Hauppauge

Points: 8 | Wins: 3 | Losses: 4 | Ties: 1 | Goals For: 42 | Goals Against: 29
Smithtown Hauppauge has lost four games by a one goal margin this season. During those matchups, the Bulls have lit the lamp just nine times. Four of those goals came in an overtime loss to Sachem. Smithtown Hauppauge lost by 3-2 in a tightly contested battle with KPC and garnered one point in a 6-6 tie against EI. The Bills have also lost two games to teams below .500, which is why they dropped in the rankings.
6th Northport Huntington
Last Weeks Rankings: Sixth
Points: 8 | Wins: 4 | Losses: 4 | Overtime Wins: 3 | Goals For: 24 | Goals Against: 45
Northport Huntington is 4-4 this year, with three overtime wins on the campaign. Their largest margin of victory came in a 10-5 win against the Longwood Lions. The Tigers have allowed thirty-four goals against through four losses this season. In that span they have scored just five goals.
7th Connetquot Sayville BBP
Last Weeks Rankings: 9th
Points: 6 | Wins: 3 | Losses: 5 | Goals For: 23 | Goals Against: 34
The T-Birds picked up two crucial points in a 2-1 win against Smithtown Hauppauge on Sunday Night. Connetquot Sayville BBP lost three consecutive contests to open the campaign, but have now won three of their last five games. The T-Birds saw an uptick of scoring against Longwood, and generated multiple scoring chances against the Bulls. Connetquot Sayville BBP will square off against Northport Huntington on Wednesday November 15th at 9:20 in a game with major playoff implications.
8th Ward Melville
Last Week’s Ranking: Ninth
Points: 4 | Wins: 2 | Losses: 6 | Goals For: 28 : Goals Against: 46
The Patriots have lost all but two of their games by a margin of two goals or less. Eleven players have lit the lamp for the Patriots, but just five players have scored two goals or more. The model also took note of the fact that eighteen of their goals have been scored by just three players.
9th West Islip
Last Week’s Ranking: Seventh
Points: 6 | Wins: 3 | Losses: 5 | Goals For: 26 | Goals Against: 36
A 6-2 loss against Ward Melville has left this team with a loose grip on the eighth seed. The West Islip Lions have given up three goals or less in four games this season. They won three of those matchups. However the Lions have scored just ten goals through five losses this season.
10th Longwood Lions
Points: 0 | Wins: 0 | Losses: 8 | Goals For: 14 | Goals Against: 77
The first-year entrants to the Varsity Division have averaged under two goals per game on the season. The Lions have been blanked in back-to-back losses. Longwood has been shut out a total of three times.
