Krauthamer with the… two goal night?
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (LISN) — Senior Jayson Krauthamer did his best Brody Dickson impression, scoring twice and adding an assist to lead the Kings Park/Commack Knights (11-3) to a 12-2 victory over the Middle Country Cougars (1-13).
Senior Jesse Lemza scored four goals in a six point performance.
Senior Jacob Dufresne backstopped the Knights to his sixth straight win of the season.
Junior Andrew Martens made his seventh start between the pipes for Middle Country.
Junior Kenny Bridgeford Jr. relieved Martens in the second stanza.
Junior Nicholas Sattler opened the scoring with his second goal of the season at 8:28 of the 1st period to give KPC a 1-0 lead.
Junior Connor Cocco potted his seventh goal of the year with 5:54 remaining in the 1st period to double the Knights lead.
Lemza netted his first of the night with 3:56 left in the 1st period.
With 12 seconds remaining in the 1st, Junior Ryan Angello extended the lead to 4-0 with his second goal of the season.
Krauthamer tallied his first career varsity goal at 14:43 of the 2nd period.
Lemza added another just six seconds later.
The KPC captain buried it as his team was still celebrating Krauthamer’s goal.
Senior Harold Stauffer fired back with his 20th tuck of the campaign to put on the board with 13:44 remaining in the 2nd period, and cut the deficit to 6-1.
Senior Gregory Galgano scored his fourth of the year for Kings Park/Commack at 12:56 in the 2nd period.
With the Cougars trailing 7-1, Bridgeford replaced Martens for the Cougars.
Krauthamer struck again with 11:21 remaining in the 2nd period.
Senior Ryan Furst scored a shorthanded goal, his eighth tally of the season, at 9:42 of the 2nd period to make it 9-1 Knights.
Lemza completed the hat-trick with 7:16 of the 2nd period.
Lemza netted his fourth of the night and league-leading 22nd goal of the season with 1:37 remaining in the 2nd period.
Senior Ronald Kemly added a shorthanded goal at 10:42 of the 3rd period for his 13th goal of the year to push the KPC lead to 12-1.
Senior Andrew Iannaccone netted his second of the year to cap the scoring for Middle Country with 9:14 left in the 3rd period, cutting the deficit to 12-2.
