KPC Trounces EI In Quarterfinals Win

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (LISN) — The Kings Park Commack Knights opened their postseason campaign with a commanding 8-1 victory over the East Islip Chiefs on Monday night at The Rinx North.

Kings Park Commack took control late in the 1st period when Jack Salva tied the game at 1-1 with just 21 seconds remaining. Brian Prange followed up with the game-winning goal 13 seconds later, giving the Knights a lead they would never relinquish.

The Knights poured it on in the 2nd period, scoring five times. Ryan Flynn kicked off the scoring, followed by power-play goals from Salva and John Coyle. Salva completed his hat trick at 3:42, and Coyle capped the period with his second goal just 16 seconds before intermission.

Ronald Kemly put the finishing touch on the Knights’ dominant performance with an unassisted goal early in the 3rd period.

The game was marred by a series of fights and misconduct penalties in the final period, including multiple game misconducts on both sides.
