Ice Falcons Blank Seahawks
The East Meadow/Levittown/Hicksville Ice Falcons defeated the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks 3-0 on Sunday night. Jack Alvy recorded a 25-save shutout, his first shutout of the season.
Brendan Dalton scored the game’s first two goals, including the eventual game-winner.
Dalton got the scoring started 8:08 into the game, as he picked up the puck, skated towards the blue line, and curled back into the slot where he ripped a shot past Panetta. He scored his second goal of the game with 4:49 to go in the second period. A quick zone entry had Colin Gorey give the puck to Owen Hickey, who made a beautiful drop pass to Dalton, where he took a step into the slot and buried it.
Hickey added another point in the third period after a turnover in the offensive zone by the Seahawks. The Ice Falcons took the puck and somehow ended up on a 4-on-0 rush. Hickey elected to shoot it, where he sniped the puck and gave East Meadow/Levittown/Hicksville a 3-0 lead in the third period.
The Seahawks were unable to score in the game’s final 10:58 and were shut out. East Meadow/Levittown/Hicksville moved their record to 5-7-0 with the win. Cold Spring Harbor dropped to 6-5-1.
