DIX HILLS, NY- The Half Hollow Hills Hornets stormed back from down 2-0 to defeat the Bethpage Eagles 3-2 on Sunday night.

Hills improve to 2-4, and Bethpage falls to 4-4-0-1 in the Conference I standings.

Joseph Corso buried a great pass from Shawn Ranaldo in the final minute of the first period to put the Eagles on the board first.

1:07 into the second period, Marko Lisica scored his 14th of the season to double the Eagles lead to two. Lisica had a hard stop in the slot before sniping the puck past Maddox Franks.

Down 2-0, Jonathan Wheeler got Hills on the board with 5:56 to go in the second period. While on the power play Peter Menexas made a perfect feed to Wheeler, who only had to slide the puck into the open cage making it 2-1.

In the second period’s final minute, with exactly 48 seconds left, Josh Mosbacher tied the game finishing off the amazing feed from Alexander Blesi. HHH evened the score at two.

Blesi started the third period off with a bang. He stole the puck right off the opening faceoff and raced up the ice for a breakaway and scored. The Hornets took their first lead of the night six seconds into the final period.

The Hornets took that goal and held on as that 3-2 score became final. No more goals were scored. Franks was the winning goaltender for HHH.
