Eathan Brdey scored the Game Winning Goal with 10:56 gone by in the first period of play. Shane Kirby started for the second consecutive contest. The T-Birds netminder has posted a 2-4 record after back-to-back wins against the Bulls and Tigers. Connor King dropped to 1-3 on the campaign in his fourth start for Northport Huntington. The T-Birds moved to 4-5 through nine games played, while the Tigers dropped to 4-5 on the campaign.
Ryan Fleischauer scored an unassisted goal with 3:18 gone by in the first period. Fleischauer was ranked sixth overall in the Week Eight edition of our Top Ten SCHSHL Forwards List. The T-Birds star hadn’t scored since his five goal game in a win against West Islip on October 15th. Joseph Boeckmann was assessed a two minute penalty for cross checking with 10:39 remaining in the period. The Tigers managed to kill off the two minute minor. Eathan Brdey scored the GWG on a shot from the slot with less than five minutes remaining in the opening frame. Lightning struck twice for the T-Birds as Brdey picked up his second of the night with forty-eight seconds remaining in the first period. Mathew Campagnola picked up a primary assist on both first period goals by Brdey. The T-birds play driver is on a three game point streak. During that span, he has lit the lamp twice and garnered five assists. A tripping penalty by Broderick Prednergast put the Tigers down a man with nine seconds remaining in the period. Connetquot Sayville BBP led 3-0 after the first fifteen minutes.
At the start of the second stanza, the Northport Huntington Tigers completed their second successful kill of the game. Austin Ruthkowski scored a power play goal for Northport Huntington which was assisted by Joseph Boeckmann and Joseph Caruso. The goal was scored on the first of two minor penalties by Jack Mercado. The Tigers had cut the lead to two. Northport Huntington’s momentum would be cut short by the first of two minor penalties committed by Erik Craft. Forty-five seconds into the T-Birds Power Play Jack Mercado, who was ranked fourth overall in Week Eight of our Top Ten SCHSHL Defenseman List, would be assessed a two minute minor for interference as well as a ten minute misconduct for unsportsmanlike conduct. Both teams would continue to be bogged down by penalties. Mathew Campagnola headed to the box with a little more more than five minutes remaining in the period. Ryan DeLucie scored his first SCHSHL goal for the T-Birds with 13:24 gone by in the second frame. Milenko Milocevich scored his first SCHSHL goal to put the T-Birds up by four with nine seconds left in the second stanza. Eric Craft was called for a cross-check on the play, but was not required to go the box after the goal. Alex Barylski headed to the box with nine seconds to go in the frame.
Eathan Brdey would complete the hat-trick with 7:45 remaining by in the final period of play. Alex Barylski went back to the box just forty-seconds later. Ryan DeLucie scored a short-handed breakaway goal with 5:22 left in regulation. Richard Guterwill was assessed a two minute penalty for roughing in the final twenty seconds of the game. The T-Birds won by a final score of 7-1.

T-Birds Tendency to Take Penalties Could Prove Costly
The T-Birds have picked up three straight wins. Two of those wins came against teams looking to secure their position in the playoff race. Shane Kirby has allowed one goal apiece in back-to back games. The T-Birds have lit the lamp sixteen times in their last three games, but only two of those goals came against the Bulls. Connetqout Sayville BBP committed just three minor penalties in their prior two matches, before being assessed six minor penalties and one ten minute misconduct against Northport Huntington The T-Birds will need to be the top of their game when they square off with Sachem on Sunday December 3rd at 7:50 PM.
Tigers Look To Right Ship After Dropping Three Consecutive Contests
The Northport Huntington Tigers were blanked in back-to-back games after their upset victory over the Kings Park Commack Knights. Austin Ruthkowski’s goal was the Tigers first goal of November, as well as their only goal since Joseph Caruso’s Overtime Game Winner against KPC. Northport Huntington is set to take on Smithtown Hauppauge on Monday November 20th at 8:10 PM. The Tigers dropped their season opener to the Bulls by a final score of 10-3.
