Four Unanswered Goals Power Storm Past Chiefs

The Valley Stream/Sewanhaka/Lynbrook Storm (6-8-0) dfeated the Massapequa Chiefs (5-8-1) by a score of 5-1 on Friday night.

Patrick O’Doherty started the scoring for the Storm walking into the slot directly off of an offensive zone draw. Tyler Darnell made a great breakout pass to Aiden Seegal, who slipped it past the goaltender to extend the Storm’s lead to 2-0 before the end of the first period.

Early into the second period, James Steinberg made it three for Valley Stream/Sewanhaka/Lynbrook with a strong second and third effort. Steinberg pounced on a loose puck in the crease, took a rebound shot before batting it in out of mid-air.

Seegal scored his second of the game in the second period, pinching in from the point. A nice pass came to Seegal as he skated down from the point, and he sniped the puck into the top right corner, making it four unanswered goals for the Storm to start the game.

Hudson Schnatter made a great steal with the Storm trying to make a D-to-D pass and rushed up the ice before slipping the puck into the back of the net through the five-hole. Massapequa was able to get their first goal of the game just over halfway through the second period.

Nicholas Naumov finished it off for Valley Stream/Sewanhaka/Lynbrook, entering the offensive zone on a 2-on-1 and squeaking it into the net. William Algozzini received the assist for getting the play started.
