Jack Insana scored the eventual game winning goal with 4:31 remaining in the third frame. Insana completed the third period natural hat trick with an empty net insurance goal to seal the deal. Connor Coyle made 17 saves in a winning performance. Eagles netminder Matteo Bellise made 23 stops in the game. Bethpage star Marko Lisica did not draw in for the Eagles.  The Chiefs scored four unanswered goals in the 4-2 comeback win. The Massapequa Chiefs moved to 1-1 on the season. The Bethpage Eagles dropped to 3-1 on the campaign. 

It was all Eagles all the time in the first frame. Tyler Wodika opened the scoring for Bethpage with 7:12 remaining in the first period. Less than two minutes later, Stavros Likourentzos lit the lamp for the Eagles. The Massapequa Chiefs trailed 2-0 after fifteen minutes. 

In the second stanza, a boarding penalty by Jackson Kilkenny put the Chiefs on the penalty kill. The Eagles power play was cut short after Jake Kelly took a slashing penalty to prevent a shorthanded scoring opportunity. With 2:39 remaining in the second period, Chiefs blue liner Billy Sciurba scored his first career NYIHSHL goal to cut the lead to one. The Eagles led by one after two. 

Jack Insana took control of the game in the third period. The Massapequa star tied the game at two apiece with 12:23 remaining in the final frame. With under five minutes remaining, Insana scored the game winning goal. The Eagles went empty net in an attempt to even the score, but with thirty-two seconds Insana completed the third period natural hat trick with an empty net insurance goal.
