Bulls Bully Chiefs

Senior Jackson Cantalupo potted a hat-trick and added an assist as the Smithtown-Hauppauge Bulls (4-0) stayed perfect on the season in a 10-1 win over the East Islip Chiefs (1-3). Senior Brendan Landrigan scored twice in a four point performance of his own. Senior Shane Reidy scored once in a three-point outing. Senior Aidan Halliday allowed one goal in his third win this season. Senior Patrick O’Shea started in goal for the third time this season before being relieved by Junior Dairo Baerga.

Cantalupo opened the scoring with 13:12 left in the 1st period to make it 1-0 Bulls. Senior Max Campo gained the zone then dropped it off for Reidy who found Cantalupo as he slipped behind the defense to go forehand-backhand.

Senior Gavin Bareham scored a shorthanded goal, the eventual game winner, with 7:59 remaining in the first frame. Bareham sniped top shelf on a two on one off a beautiful feed from Brendan Landrigan.

Campo buried a rebound with 6:16 left in the opening stanza to make it 3-0 Smithtown-Hauppauge.

Reidy scored a power play goal with 12:41 left in the 2nd period. Sophomore Aidan Landrigan made a pass to the back door that Reidy redirected home.

37 seconds later Brendan Landrigan sniped stick side high off a feed from Senior J.P. D’Allessandro with Bareham picking up the secondary assist.

Senior R.J. Pfister scored the Bulls second shorthanded goal of the night with 9:57 left in the second stanza to make it 6-0. Bareham carved his way through EI territory before going five-hole.

20 seconds later Cantalupo sniped bar down for Smithtown-Hauppauge. 13 seconds after that, Cantalupo dangled through the defense and went glove side high to make it 8-0. Trailing 8-0, East Islip pulled O’Shea in favor of Baerga.

Freshman Landon Musumeci scored his first career varsity goal on the penalty kill to break the shutout with 4:16 remaining in the 2nd period. Musumeci picked off a pass in the Bulls zone before sniping top shelf.

Brendan Landrigan answered back with 1:03 left in the frame to make it 9-1. The Bulls Captain beat Baerga from beneath the hash marks.

Junior Dean Falcone beat Baerga on a shot from the point with 10:18 left to go in the 3rd period.

Campo added a power play marker on a shot from the slot with 4:24  to make it 11-1 Smithtown-Hauppauge.
