Bulls Blank Cougars

Sophomore Aidan Landrigan had six assists as the Smithtown-Hauppauge Bulls (3-0-0) won 16-0 over the Middle Country Cougars (0-3-0). Sophomore John Avlonitis scored his first career varsity goal in a two-point performance. Junior Jack Pring recorded a shutout in his varsity debut for Smithtown-Hauppauge. Junior Kenny Bridgeford Jr. started in goal for Middle Country.

Senior Michael Wagner scored the eventual game winner with 13:57 remaining in the opening frame to make it 1-0 Smithtown-Hauppauge. Wagner scored on a shot from the slot assisted by Aidan Landrigan.

The Captain, Senior Brandon Landrigan, scored his second of the season with 9:46 left in the 1st period. Landrigan beat the goaltender glove side high with a backhand shot.

Junior Dean Falcone scored his first of the season with 4:11 to go in the first stanza to make it 3-0 Bulls. Falcone scored a one-timer from the slot, Aidan Landrigan got the primary assist and his older brother Brendan had the secondary assist.

Senior R.J. Pfister netted his first of the season with 2:12 remaining in the opening period. Pfister scored on a point shot assisted by Senior Jackson Cantalupo.

17 seconds into the 2nd period, Junior Brayden Beltrani scored his first career varsity goal to make it 5-0. Aidan Landrigan went end-to-end, had the puck poked off his stick by Cougars Junior Steven Graziano, before the trailing Beltrani pounced on it and lifted it over the pad of the netminder.

27 seconds later Cantalupo sniped top shelf for his third of the season to make it a six goal game. It was the Bulls second goal in the opening minute of the 2nd period.

Sophomore John Avlonitis scored his first career varsity goal with 12:19 left in the 2nd period. Avlonitis intercepted a pass in the offensive zone, walked in and sniped blocker side.

21 seconds later, Senior Gavin Bareham went forehand-backhand to score a breakaway goal and make it 8-0 Smithtown-Hauppauge.

Brendan Landrigan scored his second of the night with 11:16 remaining in the 2nd period. The Captain buried his own rebound on a shot from the slot.

Beltrani scored on a two on one to make it 10-0 with 9:47 left in the second frame. Beltrani beat the netminder on a one-timer assisted by Senior Shane Reidy. 12 seconds later, Falcone sniped top shelf for his second of the night.

Cantalupo scored his second of the night on a shot from the slot. Senior Andre McGraime scored his first career SCHSHL Varsity goal. McGraime scored his first as a Bull at the 2024 NYSAHA State Tournament.

Cantalupo completed the hat-trick in the 3rd period. Senior Draven Cacciani scored his first career varsity goal with 3:27 left in the 3rd period. J.P. D’Allessandro scored to make it 16-0.

Upcoming Schedule

The Smithtown-Hauppauge Bulls will be back in action for their biggest test of the season as they take on Sachem. Puck drop is set for Monday, October 14 at 8:10 PM. Sachem (2-1) is coming off a 3-2 loss to St. Anthony’s. Sachem has multiple first-year varsity players who were on the losing end of a two-game sweep by Smithtown-Hauppauge JV Red in the 2023-2024 Junior Varsity Finals.

The Middle Country Cougars will be back in action on Monday Night at 8:10 PM team, as they look to pick up their first victory against a Northport-Huntington Tigers squad coming off a 3-2 overtime win over the Connetquot-Sayville BBP T-Birds.
