Back-To-Back JV Champions
Connor Dubeau netted the eventual game winner before completing the hat-trick as the Smithtown Hauppauge Bulls secured their second consecutive JV Title in a 9-5 decision over Sachem. Brayden Beltrani potted two ginos and two apples including the go-ahead goal for Smithtown Hauppauge. Brandon Reidy scored twice in the Bulls victory. John Avlonitis and Michael Wagner both found the back of the net. Jacob Caradonna made his series debut in net for Smithtown Hauppauge. Connor Dubeau was named the LISN Finals MVP following the conclusion of the game.
Matt Bispo netted two goals for Sachem. Logan Stoltenberg and C.J. Pena each tallied two points for Sachem as Chase Saunders found the back of the net. Michael Walsh made his series debut in goal for Sachem.
Logan Stoltenberg opened the scoring to put Sachem up 1-0 with 13:56 remaining in the opening frame. Stoltenberg fired a shot from the left wing dot over the shoulder of the netminder. Connor Dubeau netted the equalizer with 3:40 remaining. Christian Semetsis corralled the puck beneath the goal line after icing was waived off, circled the cage and found Dubeau in the slot for a one-time shot to beat the goaltender.
Just 56 seconds into the 2nd period, Michael Wagner put the biscuit in the basket to give the Bulls a 2-1 lead. Marcus D’Errico entered along the left wing wall, carried to beneath the goal line and fed it to Wagner who sniped top shelf from the slot. Matt Bispo knotted things up at two with 11:22 remaining in the second stanza. Bispo came in 1 on 0 off a give-and-go play with C.J. Pena and beat the netminder glove side high. Brayden Beltrani scored the go-ahead goal for the Bulls with 8:41 left in the second frame. Beltrani went end-to-end before rifling a screened shot blocker side low. Brandon Reidy found the back of the net with 4:13 remaining in the 2nd period. Nick Rindfuss won the draw back, Draven Cacciani fired a shot off the pad and Reidy buried it from the back door. Brayden Beltrani made it a 5-2 game with 1:55 left in the second frame. Beltrani rolled off the left wing wall, carried it towards center and sniped glove side high.
Connor Dubeau scored the Bulls fourth consecutive goal with 14:18 remaining in the frame. Dubeau entered the zone, dangled past a defender and fired a shot that slipped by the goaltender. C.J. Pena potted a shorthanded goal to put Sachem back within three with 10:13 remaining. Pena fired a shot from the slot through the defender that beat the goalie blocker side low. Matt Bispo sniped top cheddar to cut the lead to 6-4 with 8:46 left in the 3rd period. Bispo rolled off the wall, dangled to the slot and went stick side high. Smithtown Hauppauge called timeout after giving up back-to-back goals in a span of 1:27. John Avlonitis buried a rebound to make it 7-4 Smithtown Hauppauge with 6:22 remaining in the final frame. Aidan Landrigan forced a turnover, beat the netminder with a fake and sent a backhand shot that went off the pipe that led to Avlonitis’s rebound goal. Sachem called timeout with 4:33 left in the period. Chase Saunders scored with 2:07 remaining in the period to make it 7-5. Saunders faked beneath the goal line and tucked it in short side as the netminder slid right-to-left. 35 seconds later, Brandon Reidy scored his second of the game to put the Bulls back up by three with 1:32 left in the final frame. Reidy blew by a defender who lost an edge, went end-to-end and beat the goaltender top shelf. Connor Dubeau potted an empty net goal to complete the hat-trick with :40 seconds remaining in regulation to secure a 9-5 win for the Smithtown Hauppauge Bulls.
