Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself
In his first SCHSHL game in nearly two years, Logan Keil netted a natural hat-trick in a five point performance to power the Connetquot Sayville T-Birds (1-0) to a 7-3 victory over the Ward Melville Patriots (0-1). Alex Clark allowed 3 goals against in a winning effort for Connetquot Sayville. The former PatMed Raider Luke Tannenbaum gave up 7 goals against in his debut for Ward Melville.
Joe Villani went bar down to put Connetquot Sayville up 1-0 with 11:54 remaining in the first frame. Mason Petry picked up his first career varsity assist on the play.
Chris Esposito beat Tannenbaum short side to score his first career varsity goal on the power play with 2:46 left in the 1st period. It was a long time coming for Esposito, who made his varsity debut for the T-Birds in November of 2022, but hadn’t appeared in an SCHSHL game since January of 2023.
Logan Keil scored his first SCHSHL goal since November 23 of 2023 with under a minute remaining in the first stanza to put Connetquot Sayville up 3-0.
Keil scored the eventual game winner with 3:09 left in the second stanza. Keil charged towards the net on a partial breakaway, but was unable to capitalize. Keil scored on a shot from the slot after Nicholas Theodoulou recovered the loose puck, and dished it to Keil for his first career varsity assist.
Keil completed the natural hat-trick with under a minute to go in the period. Keil cut left to right as he entered the zone, dancing towards the right wing circle and firing a bottle rocket to make it 5-0.
Aidan Ayers scored put Ward Melville on the board. with 14:27 left in the 3rd period. Michael Eilenberger forced a turnover in the neutral zone before dishing it to Ayers, who beat Clark cleanly on a wrist shot from the left wing circle.
Eilenberger made it a 5-2 game with 10:14 left in the third stanza. Aidan Ayers received a stretch pass, entered the zone 2 on 1 and moved it to the back door for Eilenberger to cash in.
Andrew Snyder went five-hole to put Connetquot Sayville up 6-2 with 9:59 to go in the frame. It was Synder’s first SCHSHL goal since January 11 of 2023.
Ethan Tam scored a power play marker with under six minutes in the period to make it a three score game. Daniel Breslin pinched to hold it in at the line, before dropping it off in the left wing corner for Ayers who moved it to the slot for Tam to go glove side high.
Logan Booth Alum completed the tic-tac-toe play to seal the deal for Connetquot Sayville with 3:31 left in regulation. Keil cut to the outside before making a beautiful cross crease to Synder, who went down to one knee to slide it to the back door for Booth Alum to tape it home.

• Scored the eventual game-winner and was pivotal in creating plays throughout the game.
2nd Star: Aidan Ayers (Ward Melville)
• Scored one goal and assisted on another, playing a key role in trying to bring Ward Melville back into the game.
• Was involved in both of Ward Melville’s even-strength goals.
3rd Star: Andrew Snyder (Connetquot-Sayville)
• Scored a crucial goal to extend Connetquot-Sayville’s lead to 6-2, and assisted on the final goal to help secure the win.
