Sachem Rolls Past Connetquot Sayville in 14-2 win
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — Junior Cameron Kalberer lit the lamp once and added seven assists to power Sachem’s to lead Sachem (13-5-0) to a dominant 14-2 victory over the Connetquot/ Sayville T-Birds (4-13-0-1) on Friday night.
Junior Joe Wandling added four goals of his own and an assist.
Junior Kevin Lysohir scored three goals and added two assists
Senior Scott Loeb picked up his 7th win through as many starts for Sachem
Senior Richie Westhoff Jr. started made his 8th start for Connetquot/Sayville.
Westhoff stole the show in the opening stanza and carried his momentum into the 2nd period with a series of show-stopping saves.
On the other end of the ice, Loeb came up with a couple clutch saves of his own.
Sophomore C.J. Pena Pena broke the seal at 12:32 in the 2nd period to give Sachem a 1-0 lead.
Kalberer extended the lead to 2-0 at 8:43 of the 2nd period.
Lysohir and Wandling scored two goals each in the second stanza. Junior Chris Suriano, Junior Peyton Wilson, and Junior James Drago each scored in the 2nd period. At the end of the 2nd period, Sachem led 8-0.
Senior Alex Clark entered the game for the T-Birds at the start of the 3rd period.
Pena, Wandling and Lysohir combined for six goals in the final frame. Senior Brady Hall and Sophomore Joe Villani scored for the T-Birds in the final frame of a 14-2 loss.

The Conneqout/ Sayville T-Birds (4-13-0-1) take on the Ward Melville Patriots (4-13-0-1) on Friday, January 31 at 10:10 pm. The T-Birds dropped their first meeting against the Patriots, but evened the score in round two of the season series.
