Lucas Scolaro scored the eventual game winner as the Ward Melville Patriots (4-12-1-1) won 6-1 over the Longwood Lions  (0-18-0-1). Bobby Huhne picked up his fourth win of the season for the Patriots. Anthony Frega made his tenth start of the season for the Longwood Lions.
The Ward Melville Patriots need to secure a win or draw against the Kings Park Commack Knights to punch their ticket to the playoffs. An outright loss by the West Islip Lions to the Connetquot Sayville BBP T-Birds would also allow the Patriots to advance.

Matt Dann scored to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead with 13:58 remaining in the 1st period. Jake Mangano cycled the puck into the right wing corner for Dann who circled the face off dot and sniped top shelf. Nick Frey potted his first career SCHSHL Varsity goal to tie the game for the Lions with 4:03 left in the opening frame. Aydan Azmoun went coast-to-coast before firing an off angle shot that led to a rebound opportunity for Michael Paduano, who fired a shot Frey redirected past Huhne. Lucas Scolaro found the back of the net with 2:04 remaining to put the Patriots up 2-1. Scolaro entered 2 on 1, moved the puck to Jack McCormick, who gave it right back for the Patriots co-captain to go bar down. 34 seconds later Daniel Breslin extended the Patriots lead to 3-1. Breslin picked off a pass in the neutral zone, entered the Longwood zone and used the defender as a screen to fire a shot that beat Frega.

Matt Anderson cashed in on a rebound opportunity off an odd man rush by Jack McCormick to put the Patriots up 4-1 with 7:53 left in the second stanza. Matt Dann scored his second of the night after a shot by James Fisher caromed off the wall to the back door for an easy tap in.
Anthony Cerulli went bar down with 3:37 remaining in the 3rd period to seal the deal for the Lions.
