Knights Sweep Season Series Against Chiefs

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (LISN) — Senior Jesse Lemza scored twice and added an assist to lead the Kings Park/Commack Knights (12-3-0) to an 8-1 victory over the East Islip Chiefs (6-9-0).

Senior Ronald Kemly added a goal and three assists to pace the Knights’ offense.

Senior Jack Salva contributed a goal and two assists in the win.

Senior Jacob Dufresne picked up his 7th win in his 8th start for the Knights.

Junior Dario Baerga made his 5th start in goal for the Chiefs.

Junior Ryan Flynn scored his 3rd goal of the season to give the Knights a 1-0 lead at 6:50 of the 1st period. Salva entered the zone 2 on 1 before moving it to the back door for Flynn who buried it in a wide open net.

Sophomore Sean Damian scored his first career varsity goal at 5:47 in the opening stanza to tie the game at 1-1.

Senior John Coyle scored his 10th of the season, the eventual game-winner, at 3:16 in the first frame to make it 2-1 Kings Park/ Commack.

Salva sniped top shelf for his 18th of the campaign at 2:43 of the first frame to make it a two goal game.

Lemza netted his first of the night at 13:20 of the 2nd period to make it 4-1 KPC.

Senior Greg Galgano scored his 5th goal of the campaign at 4:00 in the second stanza to make it 6-1.

Senior Ryan Furst netted his 9th of the season at 1:23 in the middle frame to extend the Knights’ lead to 6-1.

Lemza potted his second of the night and 24th of the season with just one second remaining in the 2nd period.

Kemly rounded out the scoring with his 14th goal of the season at 5:11 in the 3rd period to seal the 8-1 win.
