Knights Defeat Tigers 9-0

HAUPPAUGE N.Y. (LISN)Senior Jesse Lemza scored four goals in a seven point performance to lead Kings Park-Commack Knights (8-2) to a 9-0 victory over the Northport-Huntington Tigers (3-7).

Senior Jacob Dufresne picked up his second straight shutout victory for the Knights. Dufresne has not allowed a goal in the month of November, and has not given up a goal in seven consecutive periods.

Senior Ronny Kemly netted two goals and added three assists.

Junior Boden Rudloff made his sixth start of the year for Northport-Huntington.  

Lemza scored his ninth of the season with 10:44 remaining in the 1st period. Senior Jack Salva gained the zone, blew past the defender, and made a pass to the back door for Lemza to tap it home. 

Junior Connor Cocco scored his sixth of the year with 7:20 left in the opening stanza. Cocco redirected a shot by Senior Will Bozeman past Rudloff

Senior Ronny Kemly scored his seventh of the season with 1:36 to go in the first frame. Kemly buried it from the back door off a cross ice feed from Lemza.

Lemza scored his second of the game with 1:55 remaining in the 2nd period. The knights captain dangled through the defense before going forehand-backhand.

52 seconds into the 3rd period Lemza completed the hat-trick. Kemly won the draw and moved it to the back door for Lemza to bury it in a wide open goal. 

Lemza scored his fourth of the night and 12th of the season with 13:04 left in the third frame. the senior dusted off the defender in the right wing corner as he walked in along the goal line before going forehand-backhand to score five-hole. 

Bozeman scored his third of the campaign, his first on the power play, with 6:22 to go in the final stanza. Lemza slid it through the defenders skates from beneath the goal line, and Bozeman buried it on the doorstep. 

Salva scored his 12th of the campaign with 2:08 remaining in the 3rd period. 

Kemly netted his eighth of the season with 1:05 left in regulation.

Upcoming Schedule

The Northport-Huntington Tigers (3-7) take on the West Islip Lions (3-7) on Monday, November 25 at 8:10 pm. Northport-Huntington defeated West Islip 7-5 in their first meeting of the season. The game has become a must win for the Tigers as they look to snap their six game losing streak.

The Kings Park Commack Knights (8-2) are back in action after Thanksgiving break as they square off against the undefeated St. Anthony’s Friars (10-0) on Wednesday, December 4 at 7:50 pm. The Friars felled the Knights 5-2 in the first game of the season series.
