East Over West As Chiefs Win Round Two Against Lions

Thomas Ivers scored the eventual GWG with 1:04 gone by in the second frame. Brody Dickson recorded his second shutout in five starts this season. Dickson has played a league leading 297 minutes for EI through seven games played. The EI goaltender has compiled a 5-0-2 record to date. Tyler Sapoff got the nod in net for the fifth time this season. The West Islip Lions goaltender has posted a 2-3 record on the campaign.

After the first fifteen minutes of regulation, the game was deadlocked at 0-0. East Islip lit the lamp five times in the second stanza. Thomas Ivers opened the scoring with 1:04 gone by in the second period. Anthony Pepe scored a shorthanded goal with 11:39 remaining in the frame. Ryan Anatra proceeded to make it 3-0 in favor of EI before we hit the ten minute mark. Evan LaFata sealed the deal after lighting the lamp twice to give East Islip a five goal lead. The former JV star’s first goal came on the power play. The second came on a 1 on 2 rush where LaFata split the West Islip defense. He cut to the slot and fired a slap shot to make it 5-0 . Luke LaFata gave EI a six goal led in the final frame of play. East Islip moved to 8-0-2 on the year. West Islip dropped to 3-7 on the campaign.

East Islip Looks To Defeat Denfending Champions For Second Straight Time

East Islip has won three straight games and has yet to record a loss this season. East Islip is set to square off with a St. Anthony’s Friars program that defeated them in last season’s SCHSHL County Finals. The Friars have won four of their last five games. The game could be real barn burner, as EI won 8-6 in the first meeting between these two teams. East Islip will square off with the St. Anthony’s Friars on Monday December 4th at 9:40 PM.

West Islip Looks To Snap Four Game Skid

The West Islip Lions have been shutout in back-to-back games against the Kings Park Commack Knights and East Islip. The Lions have lost four consecutive contests. The road won’t get any easier as they are set to take on the T-Birds after the break. Connetqout Sayville BBP is currently on a three game heater. The Lions won 5-3 in their first matchup against T-Birds. The West Islip Lions will square off with the Connetquot Sayville BBP T-Birds. Wednesday, December 6th at 7:50 PM.
