East Islip Blanks Northport Huntington
EI Lights The Lamp Eleven Times In Decisive Victory.
Thomas Ivers scored the Game Winning Goal with 11:44 remaining in the first period. Just a minute later, Alex Carino put EI up 2-0. Ivers scored his second of the season with 3:53 remaining in the first frame. With under two minutes remaining in the period, Anthony Pepe made it 4-0 East Islip.
Luke LaFata scored nineteen seconds into the first period. Evan LaFata made it 6-0 midway through the second stanza. Jack Dolson scored the seventh goal of the game with 8:13 left in the period. Ivers completed the hatrick in the final minutes of the second frame. Dolson scored the final goal of the period to put EI up 9-0.
Pepe scored his second goal of the game at the start of the third period. Luke Walther scored his first SCHSHL Varsity goal to cap off a four point performance while skating on the top line for EI. Boden Rudloff made his fifth start in goal for Northport Huntington. The Tigers netminder made a string of stellar saves in his second loss of the season. Brody Dickson got the nod in the net for East Islip. The EI goaltender posted his first shutout of the campaign in his fifth start this season. Dickson has gone 4-0-1 to kick off the year.

East Islip Squares Off Against Sachem
With Ryan Anatra out of the lineup, Thomas Ivers took center stage in last night’s contest. Ivers had three goals and three assists on the night. The EI centerman now has a league leading 32 points through just eight games this season. Anatra is right behind him with thirty-one points in seven games. Anthony Pepe has moved into third place in total scoring after a six point performance against the Tigers. Sachem’s Thomas Konkowski is ranked fourth in total points with nineteen this season.
East Islip has compiled a 6-0-2 record while scoring a league leading sixty-six goals in the Varsity division. That’s fourteen more goals than a Sachem squad which has scored fifty-two times this year. However SCHSHL fans won’t get see the league’s top three scorers go toe to toe with Konkowski. The Sachem Captain was assessed a game misconduct for spearing in last night’s loss to Kings Park Commack. East Islip is set to square off against Sachem on Sunday November 19th at 7:50 PM.
Tigers Take on T-Birds
After being blanked by EI, Northport Huntington has dropped to 4-4 on the season. The Tigers now sit in fifth place in the standings, with the Friars moving into fourth place. Northport Huntington fans should keep a close eye on the upcoming matchup between Smithtown Hauppauge and Connetquot Sayville BBP. The Bulls can leapfrog the Friars and the Tigers with a win over the T-Birds. That game will be played on Sunday November 12th at 7:50 PM.
Through eight games played, the Tigers find themselves in position to solidify their spot in the standings. Following a Ward Melville win this past Monday Night, the T-Birds are on the outside looking in as the playoff race heats up. With two crucial points on the line, Tigers fans should expect an exciting matchup against the T-Birds on Wednesday November 15th at 9:20 PM.
