Bulls Defeat T-Birds

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (LISN) — The Smithtown/Hauppauge Bulls (10-1) scored 10 goals in their 10th win of the season, defeating the Connetquot/Sayville T-Birds (2-9) on Sunday night, 10-2.

Senior Jackson Cantalupo completed the hat-trick in a six point performance

Senior Shane Reidy finished with two goals and two assists.

Senior J.P. D’Allessandro lit the lamp twice.

Junior Jack Pring secured his fourth win in as many starts in net for Smithtown/Hauppauge.

Senior Alex Clark made his sixth start of the season for Connetquot/Sayville.

Sophomore Aidan Landrigan scored his seventh goal of the season with 6:29 remaining in the 1st period to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead. Senior Gavin Bareham entered the zone, spun past a defender with a spin-o-rama, and delivered a backhand pass to Cantalupo. Clark made a sliding save on Cantalupo’s shot before Aiden Landrigan buried the rebound.

Senior J.P. D’Allessandro netted his second goal of the season with 5:07 left in the 1st period to make it 2-0. D’Allessandro weaved through two defenders at center ice, broke in one-on-one, and fired a shot top shelf.

Campo rifled home his 10th goal of the season with 3:21 remaining in the 1st period.

Cantalupo beat Clark with a wicked wrister just 16 seconds into the 2nd period, extending Smithtown/Hauppauge’s lead to 4-0.

Cantalupo scored again with 11:52 remaining in the 2nd period.

Reidy batted the puck out of midair 48 seconds later, pushing the lead to 6-0.

Senior J.P. D’Allessandro redirected a shot by Sophomore John Avlonitis with 7:39 left in the 2nd period.
Senior R.J. Pfister tapped in a backdoor pass from Cantalupo with 2:09 left in the 2nd period, extending the Bulls’ lead to 8-0.

Just over a minute later, Cantalupo scored on a breakaway for his 18th goal of the season, tying West Islip senior Ciaran Pollard for the league lead.

Junior Paul Wagner scored 46 seconds into the 3rd period for his third goal of the season, making it 9-1.

Reidy scored ninth goal of the season, and second on the power play, with 11:10 remaining in the 3rd period to restore the nine-goal lead. Reidy rifled home a one-timer assisted by Campo.

Senior Nicholas Masi went top shelf for his third goal of the season at the 6:44 mark.

The Smithtown/Hauppauge Bulls (10-1) return to action on Monday, December 9, at 8:10 p.m. against the Middle Country Cougars (0-9). The Bulls dominated the Cougars 16-0 in their first meeting of the season on Sunday, October 6.

The Connetquot/Sayville T-Birds will face off against the Northport/Huntington Tigers on Sunday, December 8, at 7:50 p.m. The T-Birds previously fell 3-2 in overtime to the Tigers on Wednesday, October 6.
