Siebring’s Four-Goal Outburst Powers Wallace to 8-4 Tournament Victory Over TCDMHA
Seth Siebring erupted for four goals, including the game-winner, as Wallace rolled to an 8-4 victory over TCDMHA in NYIHSHL tournament action Saturday at Tara Community Centre. The junior forward’s explosive performance, which began with two first-period tallies, helped Wallace build an early 4-1 advantage and never relinquish control despite a spirited TCDMHA comeback attempt.
Wallace stormed out of the gates with four unanswered goals in the opening frame, starting with Siebring’s opener at 8:25 assisted by Tyler Roy. After TCDMHA’s Theodore Christianson briefly cut the deficit to 2-1 with an unassisted marker, Siebring struck again just over a minute later to restore Wallace’s two-goal cushion. Tyler Roy and Jacob Wilson, who was assisted by Alton Stirling, capped the period’s scoring to give Wallace a commanding three-goal lead heading into intermission.
TCDMHA mounted a valiant response in the middle frame behind Henry Mills, who completed his hat trick with two goals 91 seconds apart to keep his team within striking distance. Mills’ unassisted tally at 2:55 and his assisted goal from Felix Weir at 1:24 provided hope for the underdogs. However, Siebring answered with the eventual game-winner at 7:43, his third of the contest, while Roy added his second goal of the night to maintain Wallace’s offensive pressure.
The final period saw both teams trade goals, with Siebring completing his four-goal masterpiece at 9:34 and Stirling adding insurance at 8:56. Mills capped his own impressive three-goal performance with an unassisted marker at 3:28, but it proved too little, too late as Wallace cruised to the tournament victory. Roy finished with four points on two goals and two assists, while goaltender Flynn Ribey weathered the storm in net for Wallace despite surrendering four goals to the resilient TCDMHA attack.
