Michael Madera delivered a dominant three-point performance, recording two goals and an assist to lead the University of New Haven to a convincing 3-1 victory over Sacred Heart University at Northford Ice Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. The win allowed New Haven to sweep the season series after falling to Sacred Heart 6-4 in their September meeting.

Madera, who entered the contest with an impressive 49 points in 18 games, continued his torrid pace by finding the back of the net twice while setting up another score. The dynamic forward received excellent support from playmaker Anthony Rosa, who contributed two assists to extend his point streak. Jimmy Brady also found the scoresheet with a crucial goal, while Trent Macri, Evan Fassett, and Jayden Spreyer each recorded assists in the balanced offensive attack.

Between the pipes, Logan Toussaint was nothing short of spectacular for New Haven, turning aside 44 of 45 shots for a stellar .978 save percentage. The netminder’s outstanding performance proved crucial in shutting down a Sacred Heart offense that had shown explosive potential in their previous meeting. Toussaint’s wall-like presence allowed New Haven’s offense to operate with confidence throughout the contest.

The victory improved New Haven’s record to 12-7 and demonstrated their ability to bounce back from adversity against a Sacred Heart squad that entered with momentum from their strong 3-1 start to the season. With the ACHA regular season winding down, New Haven’s balanced scoring attack and goaltending excellence position them well for a potential playoff push in the competitive ECHC conference.
