HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (LISN) — Kings Park/Commack finished 6th, drew the 3rd seed in the quarterfinal, and beat them. Sachem had gone 16-4 and scored more goals than anyone in the division except Smithtown/Hauppauge; on Feb. 2 the 6th seed won it 5-4 in overtime. Two nights later, Smithtown/Hauppauge ended the run 5-2.
Three of the four players who scored the most in that season are gone. The goaltender is not. Tyler Burke appeared in 13 games and allowed 39 of the 85 goals the team gave up, and he is on the 2026-27 filing, along with a Junior Varsity group that scored at a rate the Varsity never matched.
Kings Park/Commack opens against Longwood on Monday, Sept. 14, and closes against Sachem on Monday, Jan. 25.

Last season
10 wins, 9 losses and a tie in the regular season, then the playoff week that made it. Maximus Hludzinski led the team with 27 points, Connor Cocco had 24 and Jackson Ciofrone 15. None of the three are on the 2026-27 filing, and neither is Jackson Murray, who shared the net with Burke and appeared in 11 games.
What that leaves is 23 of the 97 goals and a Junior Varsity that produced more than the numbers above suggest is being replaced.
Antonio Borzumato
Antonio Borzumato (9-5—14) is the leading returning scorer, 4th on the team last season in his first Varsity year. He arrived from a Junior Varsity season of 18 goals and 25 points in 17 games, and the step up cost him about half his rate — which is the ordinary shape of that move, and it still left him fourth.

The forwards
Joseph Mezzasalma (7-7—14) matched Borzumato’s point total in 6 fewer games. He had 16 points on Junior Varsity in 2023-24 and did not appear in our records in 2024-25.
Matthew Pascale (1-6—7) played 16 games in his first Varsity season, after 16 Junior Varsity games in 2023-24.
Then the group that arrives. Matthew Defeo scored 20 goals in 14 Junior Varsity games last season and had 14 goals and 37 points at the Freshman level the year before that. Kevin Schwartz had 22 assists and 30 points in 19 Junior Varsity games. Matthew Smith scored 13 in 15 games and Carter Wochinger 15 in 15, and Jake Coyle 11 in 13.
Cohen Ghicas (9-8—17 in 20 Junior Varsity games) and Noah Bamonte (3-6—9 in 17) have each been in the program three straight seasons. Robert Wimmer played 11 Junior Varsity games last season; the year before, at the Freshman level, he scored 34 goals in 20. Jake Landman comes up after 13 Junior Varsity games and 2 Developmental seasons.
Defense
Aaron Haberman (3-5—8) is going into a 4th season in the program and a 3rd on Varsity, having played 15 games last season and 16 the year before. Corey Jacobs (3-3—6) played 18 Varsity games last season after two Junior Varsity years.
Michael Coyle has worn No. 77 for three seasons, the last two on Junior Varsity, and Harrison Waterman has three straight seasons as well, 18 Junior Varsity games last year. Jack Nesfield played 17 Junior Varsity games in 2024-25 and does not appear in our records for last season.

In goal
This is the part Kings Park/Commack did not have to rebuild. Tyler Burke was in for 13 games last season and allowed 39 goals, and he returns having already played a full varsity season behind a team that finished 6th and then beat the third seed.
Grayson Eble is the second name on the filing and he has handled a heavy load of his own: 16 Junior Varsity appearances last season, 18 the year before, 18 at the Freshman level in 2023-24. 52 games at his own level in 3 seasons is real work, and he arrives ready for the step up.
