St. Anthony’s Freshman capped off their dominant regular season with a commanding 9-1 victory over Kings Park Commack Freshman Black at North on Saturday, as Jake Evans orchestrated the offensive explosion with one goal and five assists for six points. The Friars (15-2) never trailed after Francesco Mannino‘s game-winner at 8:39 of the first period, extending their season series dominance over Kings Park Commack with their second lopsided win against the same opponent.
The first period belonged entirely to St. Anthony’s, as they built a commanding 4-0 lead through balanced scoring from four different players. Logan McCauley opened the floodgates at 12:33, followed by Mannino‘s eventual game-winner just four minutes later. Reginald Henry III and Jaxon Zethner added goals in the final two minutes of the frame, with Evans recording assists on three of the four tallies to establish the tone early.
McCauley proved to be Evans’ perfect complement, finishing with four assists to go with his opening goal for a five-point night. The dynamic duo combined for 11 points, with McCauley’s performance adding to his team-leading 31 points entering the game. Henry III contributed two goals for St. Anthony’s, while Lucas Hoffmann also found the back of the net twice in the third period to cap the scoring parade.
Kings Park Commack (6-12) faced an uphill battle from the start, hampered by five penalties in the first two periods that disrupted any rhythm they could establish. Colin Skinner provided the lone bright spot for the visitors with their only goal at 4:50 of the third period, assisted by Brody Allstadt. The loss marked another difficult chapter in what has been a challenging season for Kings Park Commack, who were previously defeated 11-2 by these same Friars back in November.
