Boston Warriors (E) rolled to a 6-0 win over Long Island Warriors – Green on Saturday at Northwell Health Ice Center, with John Sapporetti recording two goals and two assists to lead the offense. Lorenzo Lescano earned the shutout in net, turning away the Long Island attack across all three periods.
The scoring stayed quiet through the first period before Boston broke it open in the second. John Sapporetti opened the floodgates at 5:56 off a Walter Guertin assist, and David Williams followed just 17 seconds later with Sapporetti setting him up. Andrew Bosworth added an unassisted goal at 13:47 to send Boston into the third with a 3-0 cushion.
Boston kept the pressure on in the final period. Charlie Shaw scored at 3:22 with helpers from John Engvik and Justin Frankel, and Williams struck again at 10:54 with Sapporetti picking up his second assist of the game. Sapporetti capped his four-point night with an unassisted goal at 13:18, closing out the scoring at 6-0.
Austin Basil took the loss in goal for Long Island Warriors – Green, allowing all six goals. The result drops Long Island to 0-2 on the young season, while Boston improves to 1-1 following its own opening loss.
Both clubs will look to build on Saturday’s result as the summer schedule continues.
