Trent Dykeman and Conor Gray each scored three goals as the LI Rebels 10U T2 TB – Dykeman beat the PAL Blue Knights 10U T2 TB – Chlanda 12-1 in the season opener for both teams Friday night at Clark Gillies Arena (Dix Hills Ice Rink). The LIAHL Tier II 10U TB matchup was decided early, with the Rebels scoring six times in the first period.
The Rebels took a 6-1 lead into the first intermission and kept scoring after that. They added four goals in the second period and two more in the third, keeping the Blue Knights off the scoreboard over the final two periods.
Along with the hat tricks from Dykeman and Gray, six other Rebels scored once each. Thomas Descovich, Ryan Marsar, Joseph Cerullo, Aiden Accardi, Jackson Banke and Owen Oconnell all found the net, giving the Rebels eight different goal scorers. Accardi and Oconnell were each assessed two penalty minutes.
Julian Palamara scored the Blue Knights’ lone goal in the first period. Theodore Vidafar and Graham Agnello each had two penalty minutes for PAL.
The Rebels start the season 1-0-0-0, while the Blue Knights will look to rebound from a 0-1-0-0 start.
