Jeremy Kabinoff scored five goals, and the LI Sharks 14U Silver – Manno built a five-goal first-period lead on the way to a 7-4 win over the Peconic Wildcats 14U Silver – Diaz on Sunday at Peconic Ice Rink. Kabinoff’s five-goal, five-point performance accounted for the bulk of the Sharks’ offense in the LIAHL 14U Silver matchup.
The Sharks took control early, outscoring Peconic 5-0 in the first period. The teams traded goals in the second for a 1-1 frame. Peconic pushed back in the third by outscoring the Sharks 3-1, but the deficit was too large to overcome.
Jordan Daley and Carmine Montesano each added a goal for the Sharks, who improved to 2-1-0-0. Francesco Figueiredo was assessed 10 penalty minutes, and August Orlando, Axel Krosney and Stephen Laton each drew two.
Clark Beltram led the Wildcats with two goals, and Darren Kenneally and Scott Siemsen scored one each. Regan Bossert and Lucas Veraldi each finished with 10 penalty minutes, and Cameron Haggerty had four. Peconic fell to 0-2-0-0.
The Sharks will look to build on their second win, and the Wildcats are still searching for their first of the season.
