Danny Koehler scored twice and Anthony Kulp tallied three points as Fordham University overcame a spirited Farmingdale State effort for a 4-3 victory Saturday night at Islanders Iceworks. The Rams’ offensive firepower proved too much for the Rams in a back-and-forth ECHC contest that featured 82 combined shots and stellar goaltending from both sides.

Kulp, who entered the game leading Fordham with 37 points in 16 games, continued his torrid pace with a goal and two assists to pace the visitors. The dynamic forward has been the catalyst for a Fordham squad that improved to 11-5 with the victory. Koehler provided the finishing touch with his two-goal outburst, while Carmine Pittelli and Tommy Macina each contributed two assists in the offensive showcase.

Farmingdale State (16-8) received another spectacular performance from Luke Ferazi, who tallied a goal and two assists to extend his impressive campaign. The prolific scorer, who entered with 33 points in 16 games, found the back of the net for his 21st goal of the season while setting up teammates Jaden Grillo and Noah Lavoie for scores. Lavoie’s goal marked his 20th of the season, continuing his consistent offensive production that has anchored the Rams’ attack.

Despite outshooting Fordham 40-42, Farmingdale State couldn’t solve Daniel Gerts when it mattered most. The Fordham netminder turned aside 37 of 40 shots for a .925 save percentage, while counterpart PJ Tursi made 38 saves on 42 shots in the losing effort. The victory avenged Fordham’s 4-1 loss to Farmingdale State from October, evening the season series as both teams continue their push through the ECHC regular season.
