Robbie Cameron scored four goals and Chris Deangilis piled up six points as Rucks2Pucks pulled away from Flower City (C) 9-3 in LI Warriors Summer Shootout play at Northwell Health Ice Center on Friday.
Rucks2Pucks put the game away early, scoring five times in the first period alone. Cameron opened the scoring at 11:27 and struck again less than a minute later at 10:19, both goals set up by Deangilis. Chris Deangilis got on the board himself at 9:13 with an assist from Colleen Fagan, and Cameron completed a first-period hat trick with the eventual game-winner at 4:40, assisted by Deangilis and Fagan. Fagan capped the opening frame with a goal in the final seconds, assisted again by Deangilis.
The onslaught continued into the second period as Cameron notched his fourth goal, unassisted, at 9:46, and Deangilis added an unassisted tally of his own at 2:00 to push the lead to 7-0. Flower City finally got on the board in the third period behind Eric Smith and a pair of goals from Chris DelVecchio, but Matt Clancy answered with two third-period goals for Rucks2Pucks — one assisted by Matt Berry — to seal the final margin. Deangilis finished with two goals and four assists for his six-point night, while Cameron’s four-goal effort and Deangilis’s point total stood out as the headline performances in a lopsided win. Anthony Paola took the loss in goal for Flower City, which will look to regroup as the summer schedule continues.
