Clark Beltram delivered a spectacular hat trick performance as Sachem Developmental bounced back from their first loss of the season with a commanding 6-1 victory over Connetquot Sayville BBP Developmental Gold on Monday night at North. The junior forward, who entered the game with 10 goals and 23 points in 17 games, scored three times to lead the Braves to their second straight win over the struggling T-Birds this season.

After a tightly contested first period that saw both teams trade goals, Sachem (17-1) seized control with three unanswered tallies in the second period. Patrick Rodriguez provided the turning point with a dazzling game-winning goal at 9:50, weaving through all five CSY defenders with incredible stick-handling before beating Grant Kauter. “What an effort by Patrick Rodriguez puts Sachem back in front with incredible hands as he cruised right around all five of the T-Birds,” observers noted of the spectacular solo effort that broke the 1-1 deadlock.

Beltram‘s dominance began early when he opened the scoring 8:12 into the first period, answering Christian Clemens‘ goal that had briefly given CSY hope. The hat trick hero added his second goal with 55 seconds remaining in the second period, then completed his milestone performance at 7:27 of the third with assists from Kylie Russo and Joseph Fussa. Jackson Zoob, who entered with a team-leading 47 points in 18 games, capped the scoring with a backhand shot that proved “always tough for goalies to pick up.”

Colin Lorent provided steady goaltending for Sachem, earning his second career win while allowing just one goal on limited shots. The performance marked a stark contrast to CSY’s struggles between the pipes, where both Grant Kauter and Noah Martin were beaten multiple times as the T-Birds’ defensive structure crumbled under Sachem’s relentless pressure.

The victory maintains Sachem’s stranglehold atop the SCHSHL standings with a seven-point cushion over second-place Northport Huntington Gold heading into the final week of regular season play. For CSY (2-18), the loss likely locks them into the seventh playoff seed despite their recent upset victory over KPC Gold that snapped a 14-game losing streak.

This marked the fourth meeting between these teams this season, with Sachem completing the season sweep after previous victories of 8-6, 10-1, and 10-2. The dominant performance showcased why the Braves remain the league’s top championship contender as they prepare for what promises to be a deep playoff run.
