Kieran Baisley turned in one of the most dominant individual performances of the Long Island Warriors Summer Shootout, scoring a hat trick and adding six assists for a nine-point game as Long Island Warriors – White routed NYPD 113th Precinct 10-4 on Saturday at Northwell Health Ice Center. The win improved Long Island to 2-0 on the tournament while NYPD dropped to 0-2.
Long Island wasted no time establishing control, scoring three times in the first period’s final two minutes as Brett Clinch, Ray Pennington and Baisley himself found the net in a span of less than two minutes to make it 3-0. Andrew Cetola and an unassisted-style setup from Baisley extended the lead further, and by the time the period ended Long Island had built a 6-0 cushion that triggered a running clock for the remainder of the game. Baisley factored in on five of Long Island’s six first-period goals, either scoring or assisting.
Ray Carmen was nearly as productive, finishing with two goals and three assists for a five-point night that included setting up Baisley’s game-winning goal 13:31 into the second period. NYPD’s Christopher Lynch provided the lone bright spot for the Precinct, scoring twice and adding an assist for a three-point game, while Peter Steck and Conor Lynch each chipped in as NYPD tried to chip away at the deficit in the second and third periods. Goaltender DeRose picked up the win for Long Island, allowing four goals, while Tim Gaven took the loss for NYPD.
Despite the lopsided score, NYPD showed some fight in the final two periods, with Christopher Lynch and Steck combining for three of the team’s four goals after intermission. But Long Island’s relentless forecheck and puck movement never allowed the Precinct to threaten a real comeback. Both clubs return to Summer Shootout bracket play over the next two days as the tournament continues toward crowning its division champions.
